Once Bella was prepared for her surgery, we moved her into our surgical suite.
She was placed on a warming pad and the anesthetic machine and monitors were checked.
This is when the veterinarian performs sterile surgery to remove Bella’s ovaries and uterus.
And, they are done — and she is starting to recover on a heated mat.
As she is recovering from her anesthetic, a technician remains at her side until she is breathing and swallowing well on her own.
She also received a therapeutic laser treatment on her incision line, to help reduce inflammation and encourage healing.
After the breathing tube was removed, she stayed in our treatment area until she was raising her head and moving well on her own.
And that’s Bella’s Spay Day!
